22nd Nov - Wild HogsStu Page and his band, The WILD HOGS gave us a great nights entertainment last night.
Not much chat, just loads of good music, from rock'n'roll to country rock, with a bit of country as well, and including a brilliant B.B.King blues track.
A good night, a few new faces in the audience, but even so a little down on numbers, mainly due to a big local charity event at the club over the road. Unfortunately, we were also told on the night that a rumour had been going around a local linedance class that our night had been cancelled. From talking to people we are pretty sure of where the rumour came from, but still cannot understand why people do these things, it does no good to any of the clubs, and harms country music in general.
I know we keep saying lets all pull in the same direction, but we still have these rogue elements who hope to achieve something by spreading these rumours.
All I can say is if anyone hears rumours - Check with the club organisers!
If a clubnight is cancelled, they are the ones who will know.
Off the soapbox now - Looking forward to our Christmas Party Night on 13th December with THE CROWN TOP KINGS, and the night WILL go ahead.

Thanks to all who came to Chew Valley last night, making it such a great night. The room was almost full, and the place was buzzing, with jivers, line dancers and all sharing the dance floor.
Thanks to The Crown Top Kings who gave us three brilliant sets with a great mix of Country, Western Swing, Rock'n'Roll and more. They must be one of the tightest and most entertaining bands on the circuit at the moment.
The "Fast Draw" also went down well!!
A great way to finish our regular nights at Chew Valley for 2008
Looking forward to our special end of year show with WILD ANGEL on 27th December.
We'd also like to wish a very Happy Christmas to all who've supported us this year in whatever way.

A big thanks to everyone who came to Chew Valley last night for a great night. The room was packed again, and we had a superb evenings entertainment with two sets each from Richard Palmer and Kay'D.
These two must be amongst the most talented solo artists in British Country Music. They both performed a wide variety of numbers, ranging from the older to the up-to-date country music.
Both have great country voices, play their instruments to complement some quality backing tracks, and so much enthusiasm. We need more solo artists of this calibre.
There's definitely a place for them in any upcoming BCM awards.
Next Month - the return of BUCHANAN

Just to say abig big thank you to Buchanan and everyone that came last night. We had a brilliant night again, and last night again made us realise why we still love love country music.
This band never cease to please with their excellently presented three sets of original country music. So good to sit and listen to a band perform their own songs with and audience that wanted to listen. As for those people that knock the dancers and say they only dance to songs they know, well sorry people danced in our club last night all night, and they did'nt know the songs.
Once again thank you so much and cant wait to see the band again
