Hey All

Thank you for all the support, we really do appreciate your encouragement.

Our next show is a bit special as it is for my chosen charity Childrens Hospice Association (Scotland) C.H.A.S.

The venue is my local football stadium Strathclyde Homes Stadium, Dumbarton on Saturday 31 May. All, and I mean all proceeds go to the charity as the guys kindly donate their fee for the evening which will incorporate good friends and local youth football team FC Barcalomond, also supporters of CHAS.

For those of you who know me, this charity is very close to my heart and was invited to the facility opening along with the likes of Ewan MacGregor and Sharleen Spitieri from Scot Chartsters Texas.

If anyone wishes to donate to the evening, please do so directly to the charity www.chas.org.uk quoting myself and the band, it is really easy and every penny is so much appreciated.

The event expects to sell out and we thank everyone for their support.

Hi all

An update to our charity event, we raised £3000.00 for Childrens Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) and had a great night into the bargain. I have been informed from the charity that another £250 was received in donations quoting the band and I, so if it was anyone out there, many thanks for your generosity and support.

A mention should be made to the far travelled band supporters who, as always, made the effort to appear wherever we play, no names but big tip of the hat to you all.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

The band return to Grand Ole Opry, Glasgow this Friday 13 June where we will do our thing, the audience will do theirs and as usual the house will be rockin'.

A terrific venue for us that now feels like a 'home game' with so many followers faithfully turning up and bringing along new disciples wishing to be baptized in the waters of original BritCountry music !

Hell, even the 'You ain't country' brigade are starting to sing and clap along!

Praise the Good Lord

See ya there

Brian Hughes and the LoneSharks play the prestigeous Glasgow River Festival this Sunday 20 July. This is a huge FREE ADMISSION open air event hosted by the BBC which last year drew crowds of 80,000 over the two day event. We are delighted and somewhat honoured to be invited to play the main stage, so someone in Auntie Beeb must like us! A terrific opportunity to get the BritCountry message over to the masses. The venue is the waterfront  alongside BBC Scotland Headquarters, Pacific Quay, Glasgow. We have even been given the prime time Noon spot, Anyone of our friends out there that happens to be in the chosen land(!) on Sunday, come along and see how we go down.

Loneshark

Thank you Aiden and Judy and those who e-mailed me their best wishes.

Also looking forward to the forthcoming Great North Fest the following weekend where we share the bill with not just great bands, but good friends. Always a pleasure to play for John Tallon, who's faith in live British country music is immovable.

The band played at the Glasgow River Festival yesterday to a huge and appreciative audience. The sun shone and the show was broadcast on a massive video screen allowing those throughout the surrounding area to watch. The BBC filmed the set and stated they hoped it would make the Scottish news !

What a terrific experience playing to so many 'Non-Country' music fans who now are converts to BritCountry. Sold out merchandise for second week running so now need to re stock for forthcoming Great North. A great day for the band and many thanks to the BBC for booking us.

oh my lord that was a fantastic performance Brian, wish I could have been in the audience.
Your certainly not camera shy
Loneshark

Thanks Judy

We enjoyed the day and think that comes across.

There was a limit of 40 put on the audience by the tv company however almost double that turned up, and most can't be seen as they were all behind the camera lines.

No I don't do shy when performing!!!

Hi everyone

The band and I travel WAY down south for a few shows beginning Saturday 6 June and are looking for a 'half way gig', on the Friday 5 June, anyone help?

On behalf of the band I would like to thank Jim Duncan and all concerned at Saturday's Wolvestock Festival for the warm welcome given to us on our first visit. What a brilliant festival in glorious sunshine and despite personnel missing through illness, we got through the show with a last minute dep and the huge crowd really got into our songs. Thank you all so much for your participation in the sing along sections and all your merchandise purchases.

Also thanks to Merv Futter for his hospitality the following evening at Norfolk Country Music Festival. A fantastic event in a superb setting with top drawer sound and lights. Another debut for us and we were really well received by the massive audience. Thanks to all who almost emptied the merchandise stall with their purchases.

These shows were a chance to take our 'original material' message to a new areas of the country and was an overwhelming success making the long journey worthwhile.

Good thoughts to all

Judy

Good to hear Brian, and you were lucky with the sun it rained on us all weekend. See you soon hopefully
